Sliema offers the opportunity to walk by the sea, sunbathe on the rocks, or take an excursion by boat, bus or car to any of the local villages, sandy beaches, historical sites or to Malta's sister islands of Comino and Gozo. Sliema offers one of the best shopping areas on the island, together with a wide choice of restaurants, cafes and bars. Visit the Plaza shopping mall, it is just at the end of the street. Shop in air-conditioned comfort in a mall offering internationally known brands.

A short bus ride away is the heart of Malta's nightlife - Paceville. This area offers a sixteen-screen cinema, pubs, night clubs, jazz clubs, karaoke bars, theme bars and a variety of restaurants. The Bay Street Complex offers a discovery centre and a family entertainment centre in the heart of St. George's Bay. There is something for every member of the family, whatever their age group.

Taxis, car hire, diving lessons and excursions can be arranged at attractive prices. Public transport is nearby, which will connect you to any of the resorts across Malta, take you into the capital city, Valletta, for shopping, or to view the Grand Harbour. The local buses can also take you to Cirkewwa, to catch the ferry to Malta's sister island of Gozo. In Gozo you can spend time shopping, visiting the historical citadel, or relax in the wonderful beach resorts, such as Ramla Bay and the ferries run all day long so you can make it back any time you want.
